Full lecture hall at Gregor Mendel Day 2026, Medical University of Innsbruck
Gregor Mendel Day 2026 took place on 13 March 2026 at the Medical University of Innsbruck under the theme “Genetics in Medicine – Updates from Humangenom Austria.”
This marked the third edition of Gregor Mendel Day, following its launch in 2024.
The Humangenom Austria initiative, part of the Genome of Europe programme, was a key focus of the event. It aims to establish infrastructure for integrating genetic and genomic data into medicine and science in Austria. In the long term, it contributes to building a strong foundation for personalised medicine and innovative healthcare approaches across Europe.
The programme highlighted recent developments in genomics from research, clinical, and ethical perspectives. Gregor Mendel Day 2026 provided a platform for exchange among researchers, clinicians, and decision-makers, and offered insights into the progress of Humangenom Austria as well as related European initiatives.
The event was conducted in English and included a livestream for remote participants.
Further information on Gregor Mendel Day 2027 will be published in due course.
